The LG G7, the company’s next flagship smartphone, will apparently come in two different models when it launches later this year according to Korean sources —one featuring an OLED screen and one with a more affordable MLCD+ display, a new technology designed to be brighter (800cd/m²) and more energy-efficient than conventional LCD panels. (which uses an RGBW pixel structure – Man. Ed.)
Other than the screen, the two models are reported to be identical. LG was recently said to be rethinking its mobile business after a difficult year. The company has also limited its output of OLED panels.
