Aten has a new console designed for mobile applications, and broadcast and control rooms with limited space, that folds away and slides into a 1U 19″ rack space. It uses an 18.5″ FullHD display.

The console supports HDMI, DVI and VGA inputs and there is an integrated touchpad for self-contained operation. Ports for the second KVM console (USB keyboard/mouse and HDMI, DVI, or VGA monitor) are provided on the rear panel.

Hisense in the US has added a line of Roku-based TV sets to the range that it showed at CES (Hisense Aiming To Compete with Samsung, Sony and LG). The sets are in 43″, 50″, 55″ and 65″ and support UltarHD with HDR 10. Audio is 14W on the 43″, 20W on the two middle units and 30W on the 65″ and the sets have DTS TruSurround. Motion is 120Hz and the sets have dual band Wi-fi.

Foxconn company, InFocus Corp, has released SimpleShare, a display sharing presentation system that can work with and PC, Mac, DVD player, tablet, camcorder and many other devices in real time. There are no driver, software downloads or network management as the dongles connect to the HDMI output ports and are effectively a cable replacement. Up to 254 presenters can be supported. There are three bundled solutions, one with three transmitters and one receiver, and another that supports wireless touch from a touch display. The touch version supports annotation.

SimpleShare is now available worldwide through InFocus resellers and will be available directly from the manufacturer at www.infocus.com/store, starting at $899 US MSRP.

Google and JBL (Harman) have collaborated to create a soundbar that uses a full Android TV implementation to support Google Assistant, and that also turns any TV into a Smart TV. It can also control the TV using HDMI CEC commands, which can be voice triggered.

The bar has three HDMI outputs and includes an integrated microphone.

Kogan in Australia has shown that OLED TVs can be cheaper this year and has a 55″ UltraHD set will sell for Aus$1,779 ($1,340).

Lighthouse was one of the pioneers of LED displays and now the company has developed a new LED display that is intended to be used as a simple ‘plug-and-play’ solution in its Dynamic A2.4 series. The unit is designed to meet requirements such as the UK’s Building Regulations to ensure that they are fire resistant.

The displays are available in 89″ and 118″ diagonals and have 2.4mm/2.5mm pitch and the display is less than 40mm thick. Connectivity is via ethernet, Wi-fi and 3G and 4G on request.

Lighthouse LED Displays

Loewe has a different idea of ‘entry level’ to most other brands. It showed the 40″ (FullHD & UltraHD), 48″ and 55″ units in its Bild 3 line at IFA. (Loewe’s Entry Level is Not Cheap). It doesn’t seem to be available in Europe at the moment, but a 65″ version has been released in Australia that costs AUS$6,999 ($5,283). (Loewe has investment and a long term relationship with Hisense)

NEC in the US has announced the release of the PX1005QL laser phosphor single chip DLP projector with 10,000 lumens. The unit will ship in July with pre-orders now and an MAP of $24,000. The projector was shown at ISE. (NEC Shows Range of Display Options)

ViewSonic has upgraded its SC-T25 Citrix Ready workspace hub, which is based on the Raspberry Pi 3. Features include beacon-based session roaming, QR code login, and Citrix Casting (to allow connections from mobile devices).

ViewSonic also introduced the SC-ADPT-025 dual display adapter for the SC-T25 Citrix workspace hub. Based on the Raspberry Pi Zero, the SC-ADPT-025 adapter features an HDMI output to provide extended dual display support for a secondary monitor in a virtual workspace environment. It enables the expansion of a virtual workspace across two 1080p display and is intended to provide fast and smooth H.264 accelerated graphics performance.

The ViewSonic SC-T25 workspace hub is currently available for an estimated street price of $99.00, and the SC-ADPT-025 will have an estimated street price of $59.99 and will be available June 2018.
