DVIGear has some new DisplayPort 1.4 active optic cables that can support data rates up to 32.4Gbps and are HDCP2.2 compliant for resolutions of 8K (30Hz 4:4:4) up to 50 metres and 4K/60p (4:4:4) for up to 100m. There are DisplayPort 10 x 12.4mm docking connectors that draw power from the Displayport. The company also has a range of high quality copper-based DisplayPort cables in lengths up to 15m.
Leader has updated its long standing LV5333 3G/HD/SD-SDI waveform monitor with the addition of measurement facilities for BT.2020 colour space and Full Range Video. Also being introduced is the LV5333SER02 HDR option. Previewed at the April 2017 NAB Show in Las Vegas and now deliverable, this enables the LV5333 to measure HD HDR and 2SI 4K in ITU.BT.2100 Hybrid Log Gamma, Dolby PQ or Sony Slog-3 protocols. The waveform display now supports PQ scales of 4000, 1000, 400 & 100 cd/m², as well as 800% and 500% for HLG.
Ludia has a USB infrared curtain device for adding interactivity to any display (or other surface). The eBeam Edge Plus USB can support a stylus and costs $799 for the standard version, or $1,099 with four dry erase marker pen sleeves and a multi-charge cradle. The device uses wireless to connect to a USB dongle that is connected to the host PC. There is a lower cost version without wireless that costs $699.
NewLine has an interactive hub, the 86″ X9, that was shown at Infocomm India. It has dual cameras, top and bottom and four microphones and stereo speakers. The display includes a full Windows PC that support collaboration and interactivity and the 10 point touch technology is InGlass from FlatFrog and with optical bonding.
Samsung in the US has added a flat version of its Q6 TV that will be available in a 49″ size at $1,300. The TV has the Tizen operating system and uses a QD-based backlight. The set has UltraHD resolution, but doesn’t meet UltraHD Alliance Premium requirements.
ViewSonic has introduced two new monitors in the VA ‘value’ series, the VA2261H-8 21.5″ FullHD unit and the VA2719-sh a 27″ IPS FullHD monitor.
Features include flicker-free and Blue Light Filter technology, but audio is not supported
