We missed it at the time, but as it’s one of only a small number of models with this size, we thought we would mention that Acer is shipping the XR382CQK, a 38″ 21:9 monitor which uses the LG 3840 x 1600 IPS panel with 300 cd/m² and 5ms response time. The list price is $1,299.
Frontniche of the UK has developed an UltraHD STB, based on the Humax DTR-T4000/1TB for UK operation, that can output via 12G-SGI outputs, for professional broadcasting environments. The company also has UHD STBs for other countries.
Hall Research has released The SSW-HD-4, a 4-input HDMI seamless video switch with multi-view capabilities for professional applications and with rack mounting ears. The switch is claimed to have no transition delay when switching between inputs and can also scale the inputs onto a single display. Control is via the front panel, or RS-232.
LG has announced the 77″ version of its “wallpaper” OLEDW7 OLED TV in Korea, with a price of 33 million Won – not far off $30,000, although there is an early order discount.
Panasonic announced the PT-VZ580 projector range which has brightness of 5,000 lumens and up at the ISE event in February. (Projectors, Signage and LinkRay at Panasonic). In June, the company will start shipping the lamp-based range, which have washable filters that mean that replacement of the filters is not needed until 14,000 hours.
Panasonic also has started to ship the lower cost UltraHD Blu-ray players that the company announced at CES, the UB400, UB300 and a design version called the UB310
TCL showed its P & C ranges of Roku-based TVs recently and has now announced pricing (TCL Shows P & C-Series Roku TVs). The C-series starts under $700 and will include 55″ (55C807, $699), 65″ (65C807, $1099) and 75″ (75C807, $1999) 4K HDR TCL Roku TV models. TCL’s P-series will be offered in 50″ (50P607), 55″ (55P607), and 65″ (65P607) screen sizes with the 55″ model available for a special introductory price of $599 via pre-order on Amazon.com starting May 26th.
Vizio has added HDR streaming to its E Series of TVs in sizes of 55″ and up to add to the HDR broadcast display previously available. (All-New 2017 VIZIO SmartCast E-Series Has HDR Support & ChromeCast). HDR10 streaming is supported from Netflix, Vudu and FandangoNOW. There are also some detailed user interface improvements.
The company has also released the 50″ to 75″ SmartCast M Series TVs in Canada. (Vizio Updates P- and M-Series for 2017)
