Panasonic is now selling its LF8 (500 cd/m²) and LF80 (700 cd/m²) professional displays (seen at ISE: Panasonic Emphasises Strength & Reliability). Available in 42″, 47″ and 55″ sizes, these units are capable of 24/7 operation, and replace the LF6 and LF60 products. Prices are between £800 ($1,215) and £1,310 ($1,990) for the LF8 series, and £1,030 ($1,565) and £2,050 ($3,115) for the LF80 series.

Additionally, following its announcement at ISE, Panasonic has launched the 3DLP PT-RQ13K laser phosphor projector. This 10,000-lumen model uses a feature Panasonic calls ‘Quad Pixel Drive’ to achieve 5120 x 3200 resolution from a chip with 2560 x 1600 native resolution. The projector will be on sale this month, for £64,850 ($98,320).

The new Sony TVs revealed at IFA (X80C and S80C) are now available. The S80C (curved, 55″ and 65″) will only be sold in Europe, while the X80C (49″ and 55″) will be known as the X81C (55″ and 65″) in the USA. Prices start at £720 ($1,090) (X80C), £1,040 ($1,570) (S80C) and $1,100 (X81C).

The first Steam Machine game consoles are now available. Created by Valve partners Alienware, Zotac and Cyberpower, prices range from $450 to $1,500. The Steam Controller (Steam Link Lets You Play PC Games on Your TV) is also available.
