Large Panel Shipments Fell 1% MoM

A total 22.5 million large panels were shipped in October from Taiwan’s four major panel manufacturers. This was just under 1% lower than the previous month but represented a year on year improvement of 14.4%. The total number of large panels shipped so far this year from Taiwan reached 217.4 million, a 1.7% increase from the same period of 2013 when 213.7 million panels were shipped. AU Optronics, whose main focus is still on large panel shipments, was the only one of the four companies to report a sequential increase in shipments, rising 5% from the previous month. Innolux, Hannstar Display and Chunghwa Picture Tubes reported declines of 4.5%, 30% and 14.1% respectively. For individual company reports, see Company News in this issue.
