Kone Launches “The Most Uneventful VR Experience Ever Made”

Elevator and escalator manufacturer Kone has created a sequel of sorts to the elevator-based VR experience it released last year, this time focusing on the escalator side of its business, with the help of Finland design agency Hasan and Partners. Take a look at this trailer which Kone posted to its YouTube channel.

This VR experience is as dull as it looks and sounds—users simply ride a never-ending escalator. Let’s face it, anyone that’s been through the Waterloo tube station in London knows how that feels already. Indeed, the company itself is marketing it as “the most uneventful VR experience ever made”. Some might wonder at the wisdom of trying to promote a business using something so boring but I’d wager that the company is banking on it trending simply because of its sheer banality, which is admittedly quite amusing!
