Bullit Group which licenses the Kodak brand has announced the Ektra smartphone (named after a historic Kodak camera) which is optimised for around for photography. It has a 21 megapixel main camera uses a Sony Exmor RS sensor with fast PDAF focus and an aperture of f2.0, while the front camera supports 13 megapixels at F2.2, also with PDAF. There is a range of special modes such as HDR, landscape, portrait, macro, sports, night, panorama and bokeh and there is a dedicated camera button. The phone uses Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will be sold only in Europe, initially at €499.
The display is a 5″ FullHD part and the AP is a MediaTek Helio X20 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB and up to 128GB via microSD. The camera and display are both protected by Gorilla glass.
