Iristick is from Antwerp in Belgium and has developed its own smartglasses which are based on a display-only architecture mounted on certified safety glasses. The company has two versions, one with a 5 megapixel main camera and the other with an additional 5 megapixel camera on the side that has a 5x optical zoom function. It also has separate audio jack that can be used for earphones and microphones in challenging noise environments.
There are a number of sensors for tracking motion and the displays have 428 x 240 resolution with refresh up to 60 FPS. The glasses are certified for eight hours use on battery. Weight is 62g or 71g depending on the version.
The company has fifty units out in pilot projects and is waiting for the mass production specification to be finalised at the moment.
Iristick has developed an SDK for its glasses that can be used on Android systems. The company believes that it may be helpful for IT departments to use Android devices that they have already qualified and that they can also support.
Moving forward, the company is looking at its next generation product and would like to be able to support iOS.
