What They Say
IBC released its visitor numbers at 37,071 from 170 countries and said that there were more than 1,000 exhibitors. The number was 34% down on the 2019 total of 56,390.
What We Think
I was only at IBC for a single shorter day, as it was the last, but I got round almost everyone I wanted to see. My articles with details will be published next week. However, there were a number of companies that were not at the show. Perhaps most surprising was Panasonic which has a big broadcast equipment and camera business and also Sanyo. It was less surprising that companies in the broadcast monitor market such as TVLogic from Korea and Konvision and FSN from China were not there. (that was my main focus for the day) There was also a big reduction in the number of direct view LED suppliers.
A lot of companies and organisations had smaller booths than usual. (BR)
