Hunt in the Dark With Iiyama

When we covered Iiyama’s Red Eagle gaming display (Iiyama is Top of the Food Chain), we knew that it was the start of a new series of monitors. The company has now unveiled the next addition – the GE2788HS-B1 Black Hawk.

Like the Red Eagle, Iiyama describes the 27″ Black Hawk as a ‘predator’, with a 1ms response time, and a night hunter, with the Black Tuner feature; this will enhance detail in dark areas, without washing out light regions.

Unlike its cousin, this screen does not have AMD’s Freesync technology, but does include Overdrive to reduce motion blur. It also has a low blue light mode.

A TN panel provides the monitor with a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 170°/160° viewing angles. Resolution is 1920 x 1080 and brightness is 300 cd/m².

-5° – 20° tilt is built into the stand. The monitor features HDMI, DVI-D and VGA ports, as well as two 2.5W speakers. It is on salee now, for €220 ex VAT.

Three other G-Master gaming monitors are to follow at the end of November, including a flagship 28″ UltraHD model.
