Following reports that Huawei is preparing to launch a foldable OLED smartphone in November 2018, ahead of Samsung’s long-awaited offering, confusion has arisen regarding the company’s source of flexible OLED panels.
Original reports suggested that Huawei would use LG flexible OLEDs but a new report from ET News has debunked this claim, stating that the company is actually working with BOE, which recently revealed its 7.6″ flexible OLED screen. Huawei’s foldable smartphone is expected to feature a 8″ display when in tablet form.
The report goes on to say that BOE is also developing foldable panels for two other companies.
