AllAboutCircuits reported that Infineon has released a new MEMS scanner chipset of mirror and driver chip to reduce the size and boost the efficiency of laser beam scanner (LBS). technology.
The blog also reported that Huawei has a new DLP-based AR HUD with a 13° x 5° FOV, allowing for a 70-inch image to be displayed at a distance of 7.5 m in front of the driver (over 100ppd). Resolution is fullHD and the system is (relatively) compact at around 10 Litres. The system has special processing and a ‘unique optical path’ to minimise ghosting.
The system was demonstrated at the Munich Motor Show earlier this month. Huawei said that it plans to move on to larger, higher definition autostereo systems in the future.
