Huawei Device USA announced the availability of Huawei Fit, a new wearable device that it says is “designed to fit everybody’s fitness needs”.
Featuring multi-sport tracking, automatic step count, heart rate and sleep monitoring, as well as smartphone alerts, Huawei Fit will retail for a suggested price of $129.99 USD at Best Buy, Amazon and Newegg.
The watch has an always-on LCD touch screen intended to be always visible, even in strong light using a reflective and backlit display, controlled by an ambient light sensor. The display device has 208 x 208 resolution on a monochrome memory LCD with a diameter of 1.04″ (26.3mm) giving 200ppi.
The Huawei Fit’s body is moulded from a single aluminium component, in two finishes: Moonlight Silver and Titanium Grey and weight is 35 gms. The processor has 256KB of Ram and 16MB of Flash memory, as well as 1MB of ROM. The company claims a battery life (with just ‘periodic heart rate checks’ of 6 days and a charging time of less than two hours. It is water resistant to 5 atmospheres and it is IP68 certified.
The Huawei Fit can be connected to a smartphone to receive smart alerts for incoming call and messages. The watch will vibrate when a call is incoming, identify when a call is missed, and even allow you to end a call by swiping up on the watch screen.

It has been pointed out that the device is basically the same as the Honor S1. Honor is a spin-off from Huawei. (BR)
