HTC Viveport Has Over 20,000 Developers

According to Alvin Wang Graylin, president of HTC China, HTC’s Viveport has attracted over 20,000 registrations from independent VR application developers, resulting in the launch of around 2,200 applications.

Graylin also believes that the number of Vive-supporting applications is expected to exceed 10,000 in 2017. At present, around 23% of application developers come from China, and 49% of them have produced related applications.

HTC has signed a cooperation MOU agreement with the city government of Shenzhen, to develop core technologies and related applications for the VR industry. To meet this aim, a jointly-funded research institute is being set up.

The Vive is the highest selling HMD VR device in the China with a 49% share in the fourth quarter of 2016.
