HTC: Ready Player One Boosts VR Interest in China

HTC China’s president Alvin Wang Graylin has said that the popularity of Ready Player One, the recent movie release from Steven Spielberg, will encourage more people to purchase VR equipment over the next 12 months.

The company recently conducted a survey of over 4,000 people, 60.3% of which responded that they planned to buy or upgrade VR hardware in the next year, a 23% increase on the previous survey. 37.2% said they hadn’t seen the movie. (Does Dystopia Promote VR?)
