HTC Confirms September Launch and Pricing for Vive Wireless Adapter

HTC’s wireless Vive adapter, announced earlier this year, will launch in September, priced at $300 in the US. What we also now know is that Vive Pro owners will need to spend another $60 on an extra compatibility device in order to use their headset wirelessly.

Bundled with the adapter is a PCIe card that needs to be installed in the user’s computer. The card transmits the wireless VR signal over the 60GHz band, which the company says ensures low latency. The adapter itself attaches to the headset and is tethered by a cable to a wearable battery.
