HP on Track to Split Businesses in November

HP says it is on track to split the company into two separate entities in November. The company announced last November its intention to form two new businesses, HP Enterprise which will focus on supplying businesses with software, services, and hardware and which will be led by Meg Whitman, and HP Inc., which will sell PCs and printers to businesses and consumers, run by Dion Weisler (HP to Split into Two Companies).

Last month, HP’s CFO Cathie Lesjak said the split would cost around $2 billion over two years, comprised of $1.3 billion in charges in fiscal 2015, separation-related capital spending of around $300 million this year and an estimated charge of $500 million for 2016.
