HP Identified as Global Leader on Climate Change

CDP said that HP is a ‘world leader’ for taking actions to prevent the adverse effects of climate change. HP’s actions and strategy has been to manage carbon emissions and address climate change across its supply chain. CDP placed HP on its supplier engagement leader board and Supplier Climate A List.

The firm assessed more than 3,300 companies and HP was one of 29 global companies to earn a position on the supplier engagement leader board.

CDP also published the “Supplier Climate A List” which recognises companies for their climate strategy, reporting, and actions to create a low-carbon economy. CDP ranked 4,300 companies, and HP was one of 112 companies that made the A List. At the request of 89 purchasing organisations, with a combined spend of $2.7 trillion, CDP was actioned to produce a ranking list.

HP set out to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from its first-tier manufacturing plants as well as in product transportation. This also included incentivising its supply chain to set and achieve their own GHG emissions-reduction goals as well as promoting energy efficiency improvements.
