The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has recognised the HP DreamColor Display and its developers with the Scientific and Engineering Award (Academy Plaque) for the impact it has made in film, providing affordable, consistent and stable colour throughout the film production process. John Frederick, Bob Myers, Karl Rasche and Tom Lianza were recognised at the Academy’s award ceremony for the development of the HP DreamColor LP2480zx Professional Display. Software developer and cheer leader for accurate colour, Portrait Displays, was mentioned in the acceptance speech by HP.
