Hox LED Comes Into Branded LED

Hox LED is a fourteen year Shenzen LED maker that told us that it has been making LED displays for other brands ‘for many years’, but is now starting to increase the volume of sales that it is making under its own brand. This was its first event in Europe, but it plans to be at IBC in September and the firm told us that its best market is Europe, partly because it can meet the quality requirements of European buyers.

A new development is GOB or Glue on board which puts resin all around 1.9mm and 2.6mm pitch LEDs and makes them both more robust and also waterproof. The technology is not the same as CoB as the LEDs are standard devices. The company has included the technology in conventional LED displays and also in transparent indoor systems, although there are versions that can be used outdoors as well. There are options of ‘soft’ or ‘hard’ glue depending on the application. Transparency is 55% on the 3.9mm (H) x 7.8mm (V) pitch units and the systems use 1000 x 500 cabinets with weight of 6.6kg (13.3 kg/m²) and brightness is 2,500 cd/m² with 3840Hz refresh. The diecast aluminium casing is rated to IP65.

The company told us that it is doing well with the GOB technology and supplied more than 2,000 m² in the last month.

Hox LED plans to set up an office in the UK, but is looking for partners around Europe.

Analyst Comment

Hox looks like an interesting company and stood out (with Hatress) from the ‘me too’ LED makers that we so often see from Shenzen. (BR)
