Hologate Sees Return of LBE Visitors

What They Say

Hologate VR, based in Germany and a developer of LBE VR, said that its number of users has now got back to 90K per week, which is the level of early 2020, before the impact of Covid-19.

The firm said that one of its distributors in the US had seen ‘completely full’ facilities in Texas. The facilities had implemented upgrades to their hygiene procedures and that

“Any worry from guests not wanting to put on a virtual reality headset due to cleanliness issues was non-existent”.

Separately, the Information’s ‘Reality Check’ newsletter said that Australia’s Zero Latency VR just announced its 52nd location (and its first in Italy) and reached one million unique players in January 2021.

What We Think

This is good news for LBE, but the market researcher in me discounts the comments about ‘worry from guests’ as this was a ‘self-selecting sample’. If you had been worried, you wouldn’t have been there. Then again, my guess is that the demographics of VR-based LBE is skewed heavily towards younger visitors and they are likely to be a lot less concerned than older players. (BR)
