HDMI Licensing has launched the Premium HDMI Cable Certification Programme. The group says that the endeavour will ‘help [to] ensure that consumers, who will connect their devices with these cables, can enjoy the full potential of the 4K/UltraHD experience’. The certification covers additional and enhanced cable testing (to ensure that cables can support 18Gbps speeds) and an anti-counterfeiting label programme.
