HannStar Display announced its FY17 Q2 results with revenues of NT$4.7 billion ($155.9 million) and net profits of NT$1.04 billion ($34.4 million), resulting in a net margin of 25.7%. Revenues declined by 24.0% on quarterly basis while the net profit fell by 43.1% on the same basis.
Shipments of small- to medium-sized panels totaled 93.6 million units in FY17 Q2, and those of large-sized panels reached 500,000 units. Sales of below 6-inch panels for smartphone applications accounted for 65% of total sales value in the quarter. The company expects its revenues and profits to rebound in the second half of the year, buoyed by increasing shipments of all-screen panels and rising smartphone panel prices.
