Haier Builds on IFA Releases

TVs were Haier’s focus at CES; while the company has a range of mobile devices, it introduces them at different shows, including IFA.

On the subject of IFA, several products from the 2014 show were on display at CES. These included the U9000 modular TV (similar to Samsung’s Evolution Kit-compatible sets), which is due to be launched in August; and the (unnamed) 65″ curved LCD set, which was due to be launched in Q1 – however, this may have changed.

A curved 55″ OLED set with 1920 x 1080 resolution, the H9800, was also shown (with extremely over-saturated colours). It should be launched this year. Another prototype was a curved (4,000R) 105″ set with 5k resolution (21:9), which Haier hopes to bring to the market this year: the 105Q8000. It features 3D, smart functionality, DVB-T/-T2/-C tuners, DLNA and two 10W speakers. Ports for HDMI (x1 supporting UltraHD at 60fps, x2 at 30fps and x1 supporting 1920 x 1080), VGA, USB and RJ45 are featured. A 65″ version will be launched in Europe in Q2.

Along the rear of the stand Haier was showing its finalised TVs, which will be released throughout the year. In UltraHD, these are the EU5500 (Series 5) (48″, 50″, 55″, 65″) and H6660 (50″, 55″). 1920 x 1080 and below models are the K5000 (32″, 40″, 50″, 55″); E3550 (Series 3) (50″, 55″, 65″) and DR3505 (Series 3.5) (37″, 48″, 55″).
