UK-based Genee World has developed and launched an interactive kiosk solution, with a large display and touchscreen. The Genee kiosks can be loaded with existing or bespoke software, and are available in three versions: The Shard and Shard Tilt, with 54.6″ displays, and The Podium, for smaller applications.
The Shard is the most traditional kiosk, in a single-sided totem form factor. The Shard Tilt is lower (0.78m rather than 1.9m), with the screen tilted backwards. The Podium has 17″ or 19″ options available, and is 1.4m high. All use IR touch.
Both Shard displays have 1920 x 1080 resolution and 350 cd/m² of brightness. They have a 1,400:1 contrast ratio, 8ms response time and 60Hz refresh rate, with 178° viewing angles and 68% NTSC coverage. A Core i3 processor is built in, with 320GB storage and 2GB of RAM on the Shard, and 500GB/4GB on the Shard Tilt.
HDMI, DVI, VGA, composite, S-Video, USB 2.0 (x2) and USB 3.0 (x2) ports are featured on The Shard. The Shard Tilt has HDMI, VGA, USB 2.0 (x4) and RJ45. Both have two 10W speakers and use an LVDS interface.
Resolution on the The Podium kiosk is 1366 x 768 (17″) or 1440 x 900 (19″); the only other difference is brightness, which is 300 cd/m² (17″) and 350 cd/m² (19″). Viewing angles are 170°. Contrast ratio is 1,000:1 and response time is 8ms. An Intel H61 chipset is built in, with 2GB of RAM and a 64GB SSD.
All of Genee World’s new kiosks use panels from LG Display. They are on sale now; price is on application.
