Eyevis to Use ColorSpark in DLP Engines

Eyevis of Germany was showing its ESP range of DLP-based LED projector engines which are widely used in aircraft and automotive simulators. The company has supplied projectors for 17 aircraft simulators being developed by Lufthansa. The engines currently support resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 and the firm told us that it will look at custom modifications. For example, one client needed the unit to be able to operate when subject to 2G acceleration and, as the chassis of the engine is completely metal, with no plastic internally, it was able to do it. The company also looked at laser phosphor technology, but eventually decided to stay with LED light sources as it thought that the advantages of LP were limited, but there was a cost. The company will adopt the Philips ColorSpark green light source technology later this year to boost brightness.
