Elan Expects Looks for Fingerprint Growth

Elan Microelectronics, the IC design house that specialises in touchscreen controller chips, is expecting its new fingerprint sensor product line to produce revenue growth in 2017. The company believes that this new product has reportedly cut into the supply chain for Asustek’s ZenFone devices.

Elan Microelectronics is also expecting a better sales performance in 2017, due to new touchscreen controller orders it has received for Chromebook touchpads and 2-in-1 notebook devices, as well as for touchscreen stylus pens.

For the first quarter of 2017, the company expects revenues to fall 6% to 9%. The company puts this fall down to seasonal slowdown in demand for consumer electronics as well as fewer working days during the Lunar New Year period.
