Eizo: DisplayPort Might Cause 6-Bit Image Display

A fault has been found in several Radiforce monitors from Eizo. These products could mistakenly show 6-bit (64 gradations), rather than 8- or 10-bit (256 or 1,024 gradations, respeectively), when connected to particular graphics board through the DisplayPort input. This can lead to banding.

The affected monitors are certain models of the RX440, GX540, RX650 and RX850. Serial numbers for these models can be found at http://tinyurl.com/q6ru7kd. The GPUs are Eizo’s MED-X3900/X4900/X5000/X7000 and MED-V5800/V4800/V3800. Certain AMD or Intel boards may also be affected.

Eizo plans to correct this issue in a firmware update.
