Frank Ko, chairman and CEO of e-paper solution provider E Ink Holding (EIH), says that e-paper displays could prove to be the most competitive for IoT devices, due to their low power requirements, wireless charging capabilities and mobility for outdoor use.
According to Digitimes, the company is currently trying to forge agreements with related partner companies to promote flexible e-paper displays and is also developing a battery-free e-paper device, which Ko says is ready to roll out.
In addition, EIH’s new Advanced Colour ePaper product is almost ready to go too — samples have been sent to clients for verification, and Ko says volume production could commence at the end of 2018 or in early 2019.
