Authorities in Dubai are testing digital licence plates using E Ink technology. The licence plates are coming from the US company, Reviver Auto. (A New Display Application: Electronic License Plates). The plates have been approved for use in California and estimates are that more than 100,000 will be sold in the US this year.
In Dubai, the cars will be connected and a variety of different digital information can be displayed. The plates will also advise authorities if there is an accident. The trial will run until November.
