IHS Teardown Reveals Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Bill of Materials

IHS Markit’s teardown of the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus has revealed it has a bill-of-materials cost of $375.80. Of this amount, the device’s 6.2″ Super AMOLED display—featuring a 2960 x 1440 resolution, 529 ppi and 700cd/m² of brightness—represents $79, making it the handset’s most expensive component.

The combined cost of the device’s camera modules is $44.95, $34.95 of which accounts for the 12-megapixel dual-lens rear camera set-up, while its Snapdragon 845 processor costs $67. The S9 Plus retails from $839.99.
