What They Say
Auganix.org reported that DPVR, based in Shanghai, is to show a new VR headset, the E4, at the Immersive Techweek VRdays in Rotterdam later this week. The set is aimed at consumers and i8s said to have a ‘4K LCD display with 120Hz refresh’ and a 116° FOV. The unit is designed to connect to a PC and has a ‘flip-up design so that the headset can easily be moved out of the eyeline very easily. It weighs 280gms and is compatibel with Steam VR games.
Pre-orders at a reported price of $549 are open from 30th November (first 2,000 at $499). Shipment will start by mid-January 2023.
What We Think
It’s not clear from the information so far as to whether this headset has 2 x 2K displays or genuinely has something better. The flip-up idea looks useful. The headset will have an online launch with more details soon. (BR)
