The Taipei Times has carried an article that highlights comments from Trendforce analyst, Iris Hu, that cast doubt on the committment of the Taiwanese government to helping local companies to compete with Korean and Chinese developments. “We do not have high hopes that the government will support the development, it is just a verbal commitment.” she told the paper.
She cast doubt on the ability of local companies to be successful in the development without government support, a view expressed by AUO at Touch Taiwan last month.
