Sony has begun rolling out firmware version 6.560 to its range of Android TVs, which brings Dolby Vision support to its 2018 lines, including the AF8 and XF90, alongside a “My Apps” favourite bar for models released from 2016 onwards. The company has said that the update will roll out gradually over the course of the next month.
As ever, Dolby Vision compatibility for Sony TVs via HDMI will rely on the connected device also receiving its own separate update. Many products like Apple TV 4K have already been updated to work with Sony TVs, though many devices still have not.
