Displays Will Drive Organic Electronics Growth

Organic electronics will grow quickly over the next six years, largely driven by displays. A new report by Allied Market Research (http://tinyurl.com/p3r86mv) says that organic electronics will grow at a 29.5% CAGR between 2014 and 2020, ending the forecast period at a value of $79.5 billion.

Displays will represent more than 65% of the market’s revenue by 2020, as OLED screens become ‘common-place’. Organic photovoltaic cells will be a tertiary driver, with the second-largest segment being organic system components (20% of revenue by 2020).

APAC will account for 63.5% of spend by 2020, says AMR. Europe will also be a significant market, growing at a 35.9% CAGR to be worth $9.6 billion by 2020.
