Display Week’s Annual Investors Conference Delves into Opportunities Surrounding Advanced Materials, Emerging Display Technologies and AR/VR

The Society for Information Display (SID) is collaborating with Stifel Financial Corp. and DSCC for its’ Annual Investors Conference at Display Week, which runs from May 21 – May 26, 2017 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Part of the four-day SID Business Track, this day-long event will be held immediately following the Display Week keynote presentations on Tuesday, May 23, and will once again focus on “Trendspotting in the Emerging Display Technology Ecosystem.”
The Investors Conference is a unique event where public and private investors, as well as business professionals, will hear about cutting-edge technology from leading industry figures who are driving advancements in the global display ecosystem. Session topics include:
  • Session 1: OLED Revolution Continues
  • Session 2: Shifting Technology Dynamics in the Display Landscape
  • Session 3: Innovations Driving Established and Emerging Display Technology Markets
Following welcoming remarks from Dr. Yong-Seog Kim, SID president, along with Josh Epstein, managing director at Stifel, presenters from some of the most innovative companies in the display industry will deliver interactive talks. Companies participating in this year’s Investors Conference include: Universal Display, Kyulux, Kateeva, CYNORA, Kopin, GLO, X-Celeprint, Aledia, Nanosys, Pixelligent, LEIA and Vuzix.
Attendees will also hear three keynotes during lunch and at the closing of the conference. Specifically, the luncheon keynote will be on “The Challenges and Opportunities for Mass Adoption in AR/VR” delivered by Damon Hernandez from Samsung Research America. The closing keynote presentations will be “Driving Towards a Tipping Point in the Augmented, Virtual and Mixed Reality World” from Stephen Saltzman, managing director, VR Investments at Intel Capital; and “A Different Perspective on VR’s Current and Future Path to Success” by Amit Shalev, Head of VR Technology, IMAX Corporation.
According to SID’s Marketing Chair, Sri Peruvemba, “SID and Display Week, in particular, has been a harbinger of display technology trends and many of these trends are influenced by start-up companies that need funding. Our investor conference is aimed at giving those that need funding, along with those that are looking to invest in this dynamic industry, the prime opportunity to share ideas and network.”
Also backing the value of the conference, Stifel’s Epstein noted, “The display sector impacts a wide array of markets, including the consumer electronics, connected home, automotive, signage and industrial/enterprise markets.
