Dell has added a new Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet, which enhances the firm’s range of rugged products including a 12″ convertible notebook, and 14″ Rugged and “Rugged Extreme” notebooks. The tablet works from -20° to +145° F (-29° to +63°C), can survive a drop from 4′ (1.3M) and is suitable for explosive atmospheres.
There is an 11.6″ 1366 x 768 resolution “outdoor readable” display that can support touch even with gloved hands. It is based on Intel Core M processors and has up to 12 hour battery life. Storage is up to 512GB and options include mobile broadband and GPS. There are a range of add-ons including desk and vehicle docks and a full sized keyboard which is backlit and IP-65 rated.
Shipping is due to start at the end of July in the US.
