Customer Wins Refund for No ‘Evolution Kit’

Flatpanels.DK has reported that a US customer had got a full refund of the cost of a Smart TV that he bought in 2013 and that was sold as being upgradable with the Evolution Kit. However, as we reported from CES last year, Samsung stopped developing this kit. When the customer wanted to take advantage of the kit, which was to be available ‘through 2016’ when first announced, he couldn’t buy one. He got no response from Samsung, so issued a claim in court, which Samsung has now settled in full.

Settling individual claims, if it can avoid any kind of class action, is probably cheaper than developing a kit! (BR)
