LG’s Wallpaper TV Available For Commercial Use

LG has released a commercial version of its ‘wallpaper’ OLED in 55″ and with FullHD resolution. The 55EJ5C-B is available from Midwich in the UK with a list price of £5,599 ($7,000). Brightness is quoted at 100/400 cd/m² (APL 100%/25%) and lifetime is quoted at 30,000 hours, but at only 18 hours per day and ‘motion video only’. Colour gamut is quoted as “108%”, without definition of the colour space.

Other features include a hard coating (2H), and there’s a new anti-reflection treatment of the front polarizer (reflectance Typ. 1.0%). There is a ‘file player’ integrated. Inputs are HDMI and DisplayPort (with loop through to support a tile mode) and there are USB ports for Wi-Fi dongles.The control box has an OPS slot and can be fitted with an external media player. Control is via ethernet, RS232 or infrared. Weight of the display is 5.5kg, but the control box adds 5.3kg. The bezels are 9.3 / 12.4 / 8.7 / 8.7mm (U/B/L/R), including 0.9mm between the image and the bezel edge.

The dimensions of the head unit are 1227 x 702.1 x 3.65mm, while the control unit is 420 x 230 x 75mm.
