Analyst Counterpoint Research published a brief article on OLED on silicon (OLEDoS) displays. The company said that it expected the technology to reach 28% of the AR/VR market by 2025. Counterpoint said
It is expected that two OLEDoS displays will be installed inside Apple’s first headset, and Sony will be the first supplier this time. LG Display is expected to supply general OLEDs that are applied to the external indicators. In the long run, however, Apple is expected to choose LG Display as a supplier of OLEDoS over Sony.
The company also expects SDC to rapidly catch up with LGD in the supply of microdisplays. (Samsung Display and LG Display developing OLEDoS and LEDoS techs)
