Spain’s Mediapro and La Liga agreed a deal to stream the semi-finals of La Copa Del Rey (King’s Cup) to 40 countries on Facebook. Some of the countries included in the live streaming were the UK, Ireland, Italy, Belgium, Russia, most of the countries in the Middle East, China and Australia.
The Mediapro streaming signal, through Gol, was the first Spanish TV channel to broadcast live football matches through Facebook.
On 7th and 8th February respectively, Facebook users were able to watch the second leg matches between Barcelona and Atletico de Madrid and Celta versus Alaves.
