The Economic Daily News has reported that Compal is forecasting a doubling of shipments to smartwatch brand, Fossil, from between 500 and 600 thousand units in 2016 to 1.2 million in 2017. The firm makes the devices in Kunshan, where it also makes tablets. Compal is reported to be planning to make 87 million devices in total this year, up from 70 million in 2016.
