Amscreen of the UK said that it will be supplying the digital phone boxes for a new roll out by Clear Channel UK under the name of Adshel Live. Amscreen said that it has already supplied 1200 of the phone boxes, which feature Wi-Fi, interactive local maps and payphone services, with an Adshel Live digital screen integrated. The screens have been designed and built by Amscreen at their factory near Bolton, Lancs, in the North West of the UK.
By the end of 2016, 100 boxes will be installed in London and this will be expanded to 500 by the end of 2017.
Separately, Amscreen said that it had appointed Dirk Hülsermann, previously of NEC and responsible for the Vukunet project, as Senior Advisor, to help grow the Amscreen footprint across Europe
