Taiwanese reports have identified Huawei, Oppo and Xiaomi are planning to use LCDs with miniLED backlights for smartphones in the second half of this year.
The LED Inside blog reports that Refond, a Chinese company, has gone to the capital markets to raise money for miniLED and microLED production and the blog believes that the company can already make miniLEDs as it has said that it is already working on a project for miniLED-backed modules. The site identified Shenzhen MTC, Changelight, HC Semitek and NationStar as also working in this area.
