Arris in the US, has announced that China Network Systems of Taiwan, has chosen Arris HMC4100 set-top boxes for its digital TV video services with the KreaTV application platform.
Under Taiwanese government regulations, all cable operators must digitise their TV services by the end of 2017. As the Arris HMC4100 is a hybrid DVB-C set-top box, China Network Systems can comply with the regulations and also offer HD on demand, local PVR and streaming video services. The set-top boxes also include a DOCSIS 3.0 modem which enables China Network Systems to add two-way interactive applications to its digital TV service.
The new set-top boxes will be rolled out this month.
