Canon Europe launches the LX-MU500Z, a compact laser phosphor DLP-based installation projector with 5,000 lumens, intended for academic institutions or corporate environments.
Resolution is 1920 x 1200 and contrast is quoted at 50,000:1 (dynamic) and 2,500:1 (native). Sound level is 35 dB (highlighting the good result from the Vivitek 7,000 lumen unit at 32 dB in this issue). There is a 1.6:1 zoom lens with a throw ratio of 1.07 to 1.71:1.
Lens shift is ±50% and the projector can be installed in landscape or portait mode. Inputs include HDBaseT, dual HDMI and dual VGA, but no DisplayPort. There are dual 10W speakers.
Warranty is five years.
