Optoma Bright L/P Projector Runs for 30K Hours

Optoma has announced the ZU510T which is a 5,500 lumen 1920 x 1200 DLP laser phosphor projector and is designed to support 30,000 hour of life with a new design that is intended to be dust resistant (IP5X). The company said that at 5,000 hours of use, there is very little change in brightness. Colour is said to be 99% of sRGB. Contrast is quoted at 300,000:1 and the lens is a 1.8x manual zoom with a 1.2:1 to 2.13:1 throw ratio. The lens is rated for use from 1.3m to 7.8m and for screen sizes from 28″ to 302″ (71cm to 767cm). There is +20% vertical lens shift and ±10% horizontally. There is optical keystone correction.

Connectivity includes three HDMI ports (one in , VGA, HDBaseT, VGA out and traditional A/V connections including RJ45, RS232 and a 12V trigger. There are dual USB ports and stereo 10W audio.

The product will be shown at ISE in February.
