A new Nanomarkets report states that quantum dots have now been developed far enough that they are a threat to OLED technology.
‘Market Opportunities for Quantum Dots: 2015 to 2022’ (http://tinyurl.com/qb8qdnr) shows that 2014 was a breakout year for QDs, which reached significant penetration levels in mobile displays. According to Nanomarkets, the QD market will be worth $5.5 billion by 2020.
Meanwhile a new whitepaper has been published by +Plastic Electronics, in association with Plastic Logic, discussing the future of plastic displays. The document (‘The power of plastic: a roadmap for plastic displays’) can be downloaded from http://tinyurl.com/khb4smx.
