BETT Looks to Software

BETT is Europe’s premier trade show for technology in education, with each year seeing a growing international presence. Many of the company representatives whom we talked to at the show remarked on this. The Nordics and the Netherlands are particularly well-represented, but we heard accents from all over Europe – and even further afield, including China and Israel. (German was relatively scarce, I think, but there is a German show coming up in the next few weeks – Man. Ed.)
The show is in an awkward place for technology vendors, sandwiched between CES (for consumer product launches) and ISE (for B2B products), so software is a growing part of many companies’ offerings. Increasingly there are stands dedicated purely to new software applications, which would not have been the case even five years ago.
